Terms of service
Placeholder — this text must be reviewed and replaced by the operator's attorney before launch. It records the operating rules the platform actually enforces so counsel has a starting point.
1. What this platform is
RideLot is a listing and lead-facilitation service. We connect buyers with private sellers and dealers. We are not a party to any vehicle sale, we do not take custody of vehicles or funds for a vehicle sale, and we do not verify the condition, title, ownership or legality of anything listed.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information and verify your email address before posting a listing or contacting a seller. You are responsible for activity on your account. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.
3. Listings and moderation
Private-seller listings are reviewed before publication, and again after any edit. Dealer listings publish immediately, unless the dealer has been placed under review — which happens automatically when one of their listings is reported. We may approve, deny, edit or remove any listing at our discretion.
4. Payments and refunds
Dealer subscriptions bill monthly through Stripe. Featured-listing promotions are one-off charges. All charges are non-refundable, including where a listing is removed, denied, expires, or the vehicle sells before the promotion period ends.
If a subscription payment fails, we notify the dealer and allow a short grace period during which the account stays active. A further failure suspends the account: listings are hidden from the marketplace and the dealer dashboard becomes read-only until billing is resolved.
5. Prohibited conduct
No fraudulent, misleading or illegal listings; no listings for vehicles you do not have the right to sell; no harassment of other members; no scraping or automated bulk access; no attempts to move transactions to untraceable payment methods.
6. Liability
The platform is provided as-is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from a transaction between members, from reliance on listing content, or from service interruption.
